Seeing her name pop up on my screen brought back so many memories. Her face bombarded my mind immediately, and all of the sudden my exhaustion dissipated into nothingness. She had been my lifeline throughout high school. The one person I could lean on, no matter what. She taught me about love, life, friendship, and kinship. She taught me how to kiss, and what to do on dates with women. Hell, she even helped get my ass through Pre-Calc, which had been a nightmare in and of itself.
I rubbed my eyes just to make sure I wasn’t seeing things. However, when her name didn’t disappear, I knew there was only one reason for her phone call.
She’s in trouble.
“Rose? Are you all right?” I asked as I picked up the phone.
And the second her crying filled the line, I leapt right back out of bed.
Savannah Rylan is a romance writer that spends most of her time writing and reading with her cat, Gris. When not writing about sexy bikers and the women that love them, you can find her on the beach with a drink in her hand or at the gym testing out some strange new position. Yoga, obviously. She lives in Southern California with her husband and Gris, the true love of her life.
