“What happened, Trey? These are several days old. I know you didn’t get them while you were in New York.”
“Kieran was pissed I outsmarted him and made sure I got the message to never pull something like that again. I’m really okay,” I reassured, holding her tightly.
Her eyes were wide with worry. “That’s not all that comforting. What if he doesn’t use his fists next time? What if he decides to shoot you if you don’t do something to his liking? I know this thing with him is far from over. Don’t even try to tell me otherwise.”
“I’ll deal with whatever Kieran has to throw at me. In the end, it was worth it to find out what I did. I don’t feel like analyzing any of it at the moment. The only thing I’d like to do right now is crawl into bed with you. Are you able to spend the night?” I inquired, my eyes begging for her to let everything else go.
“Shane and Jackson plan on crashing at my place. After taking nearly two months off from one another, I told them we needed a night alone to get reacquainted.” I flashed my dimples while wiggling my eyebrows. Her mouth slid into an adorable smile. “Stop giving me that look.”
“Not a chance, darling. I’m more than ready to collect on what you promised upon my return,” I replied, heading for my bedroom and slapping her ass to drive my point home.
“We weren’t exactly done with that conversation,” Bri squealed, dragging her fingers through my shaggy hair.
“Apologies were exchanged. A proposition was made. Sounded finished to me,” I teased, caressing her ass.
My fingers slid in between her jeans, and I could feel how wet she already was. “You’re right. We were done. I’m more than ready to talk in a different way,” Bri moaned, encouraging my hand to keep rubbing along her clit.
