Release Day Review + Giveaway: God of Monsters by Keri Lake

Series: Juniper Unraveling #4
Cover Design: Okay Creations

I’ve heard stories about the Alphas. Violent soldiers, bred to kill both humans and mutations, whose sole purpose was to balance our survival against the infected.

Until they turned on their masters.

Held as subjects of the Calico research facility, they were forced to endure the gruesome experiments that transformed them into callous savages with hearts as impenetrable as their defenses. More terrifying than the monsters that decimated our world with disease and famine.

In the aftermath of Calico’s collapse, many of the Alphas fled, only to be hunted by our own Legion army. And in their absence, the balance has shifted.

I thought they no longer existed.
Until I met him, the god of monsters.
Now I don’t believe in the stories anymore.

To fall in love with the unyielding heart of an Alpha is said to be impossible.

But to fall in love with a god would be a tragedy.

God of Monsters is the fourth book in the Juniper Unraveling series, a dark and haunting romance, set in a world decimated by a deadly contagion.

**ARC provided in exchange for an honest review**

I want to start my review by saying that the Juniper Unraveling series has become one of my all time favorites. Dark Dystopian Romance is a very niche genre and I wish more Dark Romance lovers would give this series a chance. Because I really think they would fall in love with the broken heroes and brave heroines in the gritty and ruthless world Keri Lake has created. This series was a very emotional, heart-wrenching, dark, and hopeful journey. It took me one of the most emotional roller-coaster ever, and I didn't want to get off. So much happened in this book and I applaud the author's story-telling abilities because she found the perfect pacing, and it never felt rushed. There was no dull moment and I was fully connected to the characters. I loved seeing them grow closer to each other, and see their love develop further down the story. They would do anything to save one another, and they really showed that in this book.

"I would tear apart anything that ever tried to hurt you. And I would stab my own heart out, if it was me."

This book was a very dark and emotional experience, and I was hooked from start til finish. The characters are amazing but broken in their own ways. They both have their own demons to slay but together they are stronger. Titus is one of the few Alphas still alive, and if you have read the previous books then you have been introduced to him. I was intrigued by him so I was excited when I saw that Keri was writing his story. Thalia is the heroine of this book and she was so incredibly brave, and I just can't imagine how she dealt with all the horror she had to go through in this book. Both characters go through unimaginable evil and depraved things. This series is not for the faint-hearted. It was very dark, brutal and explicit. I loved everything about this book/series, and I am sad to see it end. I really hope the author will decide to write new stories taking place in this world in the future. I highly recommend all my Dark Romance lovers to give this series a chance. You won't regret it!
