Release Day Review: I Flipping Love You by Helena Hunting

SHE’S GOT CURB APPEAL. HE’S A FIXER UPPER...

From New York Times bestselling author Helena Hunting comes I Flipping Love You, a love story about flipping houses, taking risks, and landing that special someone who’s move-in ready.

Rian Sutter grew up with the finer things in life. Spending summers in the Hamptons was a normal occurrence for her until her parents lost everything years ago. Now Rian and her sister are getting their life, and finances, back on track through real estate. Not only do they buy and sell houses to the rich and famous but they finally have the capital to flip their very own beachfront property. But when she catches the attention of a sexy stranger who snaps up every house from under her, all bets are off…

Pierce Whitfield doesn’t normally demo kitchens, install dry wall, or tear apart a beautiful woman’s dreams. He’s just a down-on-his-luck lawyer who needed a break from the city and agreed to help his brother work on a few homes in the Hamptons. When he first meets Rian, the attraction is undeniable. But when they start competing for the same pieces of prime real estate, the early sparks turn into full-blown fireworks. Can these passionate rivals turn up the heat on their budding romance—without burning down the house?

The desire is visceral, a shimmer in the air, a heat in my veins, and a fire in his eyes.
I have read and loved Helena Hunting's Clipped Wings series, however I Flipping Love You is the first lighter romance I read by her. Light/Funny romances tend to not keep me as hooked as books with angst or books that deal with emotional issues. However, after finishing this book I have found out that I can really enjoy these type of stories as well. The main reason I really liked this book was because of the entertaining main characters Rian and Pierce, and that there was more going on than just a romance. I loved the whole flipping houses and learning a bit more about it. The chemistry between Pierce and Rian was really hot. I just loved that these two couldn't stay away from one another. What I loved most was the funny banters between them. They both had their own unique personalities and the author did a great job in having the characters express them.

This book was very easy to read and had a great flow to it. There wasn't a moment that had me wanting to skip scenes, and that tells me that the author did a great job in hooking me to the story. I was invested in the relationship of Rian and Pierce, and I enjoyed seeing it progress during the story. The author took her time to let it grow and turn stronger. Rian first tried to resist Pierce, but he didn't give up and did his absolute best to have her agree to go on a date with him. I also enjoyed reading about the side characters, and I will definitely go back to read the previous two books in this series. I think I'll go back and read all of Helena's light and fun romances. I Flipping Love You is a great summer read that I think romance lovers will enjoy a lot.
