Book of Souls by Nadine Nightingale
Genre: Paranormal Romance

About Book of Souls:

They call me Angel of Death, but my name is Nisha Blake. I am Shepherdstown’s living urban legend. My life, a tale of the macabre.

People avoid me like the plague. Well, everyone but my friends. They don’t see the Angel of Death when they look at me. They see poor, broken Nisha—the bully victim, suffering from vicious night terrors and vivid hallucinations.

Things take a turn for the worse when Blaze shows up. He’s a too hot, tattooed, bad-ass MMA fighter from London, hell-bent on getting to know me. Since he walked into my miserable life, my hallucinations graduated to a point where I can no longer differentiate between fiction and reality.

I am insane.
Broken beyond repair.
Or so I think until—

I uncover a secret from the past—a link between all the deaths, my hallucinations, and my night terrors. It’s then I understand I’m not the Angel of Death.

I am something else.
Someone else.

Those who have tasted power rarely give it up. It's intoxicating and addictive.

I am such a huge fan of Nadine Nightingale writing. However, I have a love/hate relationship with the Young Adult genre. But when I found out that she was writing a series set in this genre, I didn't hesitate and knew I would pick this book up as soon as I could. I have 100% confidence in Nadine's writing and world building abilities, she more than proved that to me with her Drag Me To Hell series. I will blindly pick up anything she writes (yes she is that good!). I especially have issues finding unique PNR books, and Nadine just comes up with such creative stories. She sucks me in each and every time. And she definitely did not disappoint with Book of Souls. I was hooked from the start, the prologue was so engaging and had my heart racing. I love Egyptian mythology and all the scenes that gave me sneak peeks into that old ancient world was very interesting.

Your mind is just fine, Princess. It's your soul that needs fixing.

This book focuses on Nisha, who lost her parents and now lives with her Aunt V, her boyfriend Rob and cousin Izzy. She is special and sees things that us normal people don't. She had such bad luck in her life, and is still going through so much each day. She is in my opinion a very strong young lady and tries to live the best way she can. But she feels so much guilt but fortunately she has the best people around her. I don't want to go too much into detail because it would be too spoilery. But I loved discovering new things and seeing how everything fit together. The story was very suspenseful and had the right amount of romance. The Egyptian mythology was also perfectly ingrained into the story. The side characters were awesome and added so much to the story. Nisha's support system is the best. Blaze is also one of my favorite characters, I just loved how he didn't back off when Nisha pushed him away. The ending of this book has me very excited to get my hands on the next one. I can't even imagine what Nadine has in store for us.

About Nadine:

Nadine aka Dini is a traveler at heart. She considers the world her home and practically lives out of her suitcases. When she’s not glaring at a blank page or abusing her poor keyboard, she spends her time reading, watching movies (preferably horror), pretends to work out, and hangs out with friends and family. Poor girl also suffers from a serious Marvel superhero addiction. So, if you run into her at night, wearing black, know she’s secretly dreaming of being the infamous Black Widow.
